As part of the 15th anniversary of the Mex y Can Association of Manitoba, we are proud to present a unique event that will fulfill your senses. A magnificent culinary experience and Mexican history and culture is at your reach with first class entertainment featuring the “Ballet Folklorico de la Universidad Veracruzana”.

The “Ballet Folklorico de la Universidad Veracruzana” presents an unforgettable program. Through a theatrical show of folklore from the State of Veracruz and neighbor states, we will be able to observe ancestral and current traditions of the indigenous and mestizo peoples of Mexico.

We will appreciate a fusion of culture inherited from the arrival of the Spaniards and the influence of the rhythms brought by slaves from Africa, giving as a result the Jarocho identity. The mix between: indigenous, Spanish and African, originated a rich range of social groups, traditions and dances that are still preserved in many places of Mexico, which will be represented in this special program.
